At your window

Plan the controls along with the view.

Fairfax County's McLean planning district spans low-density neighborhoods near the Potomac and more urban areas toward Tysons. The address is only a starting point. For a wide view, tall opening, or group of windows, consider where the light falls and how you will reach the controls.

Reach the upper windows

Hunter Douglas PowerView® Automation can operate shades by remote, app, or a schedule. Include hard-to-reach glass in the first conversation so power and charging access are considered before ordering.

Treat a wide opening as a whole

Hunter Douglas Luminette® Privacy Sheers are an option for sliding doors and wide glass. Discuss where the panels stack when open and how that relates to furniture and the route through the room.

Set the drapery proportions

For tall windows, rod position and panel length change the look as much as the fabric does. Custom panels are made to the measured opening, with lining and hardware considered together.

Before we visit

Bring your questions.
We’ll measure the windows.

If you are renovating, bring the window schedule and tell us whether the walls are still open. For an existing room, note which controls you cannot reach comfortably and which windows you would like to operate together.

Your consultation includes a written quote. The design consultant who measures stays with your project, and our own team handles installation.

Questions

Planning your
McLean project.

Can you plan motorized treatments during a McLean renovation?

Yes. We offer rechargeable and hardwired options and can discuss power while you are planning the room. Installation includes setting up and testing the selected controls.

Does every motorized shade need wiring?

No. Rechargeable battery options are available. Hardwiring can be considered during a build or renovation; the choice depends on the product and access at each window.

Where can I see samples before an in-home visit?

Visit our Fairfax showroom at 11213 Route 29, Ste B, Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM. We serve McLean from that showroom and do not have a separate McLean branch.

Plan your McLean window treatments.

The consultation is free. A design consultant comes to your home, measures your windows, talks through what would work best, and leaves you a written quote. At the very least, you’ll know exactly what your windows need and what it would cost.
